Board hears zoning enforcement history for a chronic violator and public comments urging park cameras and announcing lithium battery collection

Zoning/Codes Officer Ryan Hoover briefed the Board on a long‑running enforcement matter involving a township property with repeated permit failures, trash and nuisance violations and multiple unpermitted structures, including a 40‑by‑100‑foot garage currently under a stop‑work order. Hoover told the Board the history of noncompliance dates to 2008 and that a variance hearing for the large building is scheduled at month‑end. "Given the extensive history of violations," he asked whether the Township Solicitor should attend the hearing; the Board agreed that solicitor representation was warranted.

During public comment, resident Tina Boshart described six years of caring for feral cats at and around Stuart Park through trap‑neuter‑return (TNR) work and requested installation of security cameras to catch people abandoning animals. The township indicated it will install additional security cameras, which staff said should help with monitoring and enforcement.

Resident Harold Cooney announced a lithium battery collection on May 16 at the Army Heritage Education Center, sponsored by the Rotary Club; he explained collected batteries will be shipped to a facility in Colorado for refurbishment and reuse and offered to provide the township with posting information.

The Board recorded no votes tied directly to these public comments but directed solicitor involvement for the impending variance hearing and noted planned security camera installations at Stuart Park.
