Dickinson Township accepts clean audit, approves park and road grant applications and authorizes two road project advertisements

The Dickinson Township Board unanimously accepted the 2025 financial audit from Hamilton & Musser PC at its May 6 meeting. Manager Jill Lovett summarized the audit's key finding: "We are issuing an unmodified (clean) opinion," and reported year‑end fund balances of $2,898,590 in the General Fund, $796,084 in Special Revenue funds, and $512,531 in Capital Projects.
The Board also approved two grant resolutions. Resolution 2026‑13 authorizes a Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program grant application to support an estimated $169,000 package of improvements at Stuart Park — including trails, parking lot resurfacing, picnic tables and security cameras — with a required 15% match estimated at about $25,000 (potentially partially met with in‑kind public‑works labor). Resolution 2026‑14 authorizes application to the Dirt, Gravel & Low Volume Road Maintenance Program for full reconstruction of West Yellow Breeches Road; the project estimate is $224,000 and the Board authorized asking for up to the $230,000 program maximum.
Manager Lovett introduced John Aigeldinger, who was appointed to the Planning Commission by Resolution 2026‑15. The Board also authorized advertising two roadway contracts for the 2026 Roadway Improvement Projects: Contract 1 (FB modification for Fanus Road and Clearview Place) and Contract 2 (chip seal operations for Green Mountain Road, Chelsea Lane and Morgan Drive).
All motions passed unanimously among the members present. The grant approvals require follow‑up: final project specifications, a formal grant application, and confirmation of the township's match funding arrangements. The road advertisements will allow bids to be solicited under the township's procurement schedule.
