Finance & Personnel Evaluation Committee recommends Village Board approve $3.27 million check register, bond redemption and outdoor permit

The Village of Sussex Finance & Personnel Evaluation Committee on March 3, 2026 voted unanimously to recommend three items to the Village Board: approval of the February Check Register and P-Card statement totaling $3,274,382.82, adoption of Resolution 26-05 to authorize redemption of certain General Obligation Street Improvement Bonds, Series 2016B (dated March 24, 2016), and approval of an outdoor establishment permit for Hahn’s Ace Hardware at N64W24330 Main Street.
Trustee Ben Jarvis called the meeting to order at 6:29 p.m. and a quorum was noted. Trustee Scott Adkins moved to approve the Feb. 3, 2026 meeting minutes; Member Michael Carlson seconded the motion and it carried 4-0.
On financial business, Trustee Ben Jarvis moved and Member Michael Carlson seconded a recommendation that the Village Board approve the February Check Register and P-Card statement in the amount of $3,274,382.82; the committee approved the recommendation 4-0. The committee then considered Resolution 26-05, a measure to authorize redemption of certain of the Village’s General Obligation Street Improvement Bonds, Series 2016B; Trustee Ben Jarvis moved the recommendation, Trustee Robert Landgraf seconded, and the recommendation to the Board carried 4-0.
The committee also considered an application for an outdoor establishment permit for Hahn’s Ace Hardware. Trustee Ben Jarvis moved and Trustee Scott Adkins seconded a recommendation that the Village Board approve the permit; Adam Hahn of Hahn’s Ace Hardware was present for the item. The committee approved the recommendation 4-0.
No future topics were proposed. Trustee Ben Jarvis moved and Trustee Scott Adkins seconded to adjourn; the meeting ended at 6:37 p.m. The committee’s votes were recommendations to the full Village Board and do not themselves enact ordinances or expend funds.
