Sussex Public Works Committee recommends $684,614 in bills, supports County Hwy K ROW map and advances infrastructure repairs

At its March 3 meeting the Village of Sussex Public Works Committee recommended that the Village Board approve $684,614.06 in bills, backed Waukesha County’s request to set County Hwy K right-of-way at 150 feet, and recommended a wastewater pump rebuild, a truck replacement and an update to recycling standards.
Trustee Scott Adkins called the Village of Sussex Public Works Committee to order at 6:00 p.m. on March 3. A quorum of the Village Board was present.
The committee recommended that the Village Board approve bills for payment totaling $684,614.06. Trustee Ben Jarvis moved the recommendation and Trustee Scott Adkins seconded; the motion carried 4-0.
The committee next voted to recommend approval of Resolution 26-06, supporting Waukesha County’s request to set the Established Street and Highway Width Map for County Hwy K at a 150-foot right of way. Trustee Scott Adkins moved the recommendation; Trustee Lee Uecker seconded and the motion carried 4-0.
On utility matters, the committee recommended approval of a rebuild for raw sewage pump No. 2 at the Village’s wastewater treatment facility (WWTF). Trustee Scott Adkins moved the measure and Trustee Ben Jarvis seconded; the motion carried 4-0. The committee also recommended replacement of a 2008 utility pickup truck; Trustee Lee Uecker moved and Trustee John Gorman seconded, with the recommendation carrying 4-0.
The committee recommended that the Village Board approve an ordinance to repeal and recreate Chapter 9.07(12), titled “Recycling, Compost, Garbage and Rubbish Removal Standards.” Trustee Scott Adkins moved the recommendation, Trustee Lee Uecker seconded, and the motion carried 4-0.
Village staff provided the engineer’s report and updates on subdivisions and projects; no new future agenda items were requested. Trustee Scott Adkins moved to adjourn at 6:28 p.m.; Trustee Ben Jarvis seconded and the motion carried 4-0.
