The Village of Sussex board received updates on staffing changes in the fire department and other village offices at its Feb. 24 meeting.
Trustee Lee Uecker reported to the board that the Board of Fire Commissioners discussed Fire Chief Kris Grod’s resignation and the options and recommendations for an interim fire chief; the board has interviewed an interim chief candidate. Assistant Village Administrator Katherine Gehl told the board village staff have started the hiring process to fill the vacancies created by Chief Grod’s resignation and by Clerk/Treasurer Jennifer Boehm’s new position.
