PSAP reports storm repairs complete but flags obsolete GPS antennas at power plant

At the Dec. 2 meeting the Fremont/Dodge County PSAP Governing Board heard a report that storm damage sustained in 2025 has been repaired and that both city and county insurance have paid claims for damage at Dodge and the power plant.
Radio Administrator Tom Christensen reported that responders recently reported radio issues traced to two GPS antennas at the power plant that appear to have failed. The antennas, installed in 2015, appear to be obsolete and difficult to source; Christensen said he located similar units and replacements are on the way from Iowa. The board took no action on the report.
Board members treated the item as an operational update; staff said they will follow up if replacements prove incompatible or additional repairs are required.
