Marina Garcia Hereadia, with the City of Pittsburg, said construction is officially underway on new inclusive playground improvements at Fair Park.
"Construction is officially underway on new inclusive playground improvements at Fair Park," Hereadia said, adding the project was shaped by community feedback from the city's park master plan process. The work is intended to "create a more inclusive play experience where children of all abilities can play and enjoy the outdoors together," she said.
City officials say the improvements will include inclusive sensory play stations, ADA swings and a merry-go-round, interactive musical instruments and ADA-accessible bird and play features, among other additions. The announcement did not specify a project timeline, contractor or funding breakdown.
Hereadia described the upgrades as "another important step toward creating recreational spaces that serve all members of our community," and said the city will provide progress updates as construction proceeds. She closed the remarks with a brief farewell: "We'll see you then."
