Councilmembers questioned whether cemetery speed limits and dog restrictions were properly posted, debated whether a requirement for permanent grave markers within 12 months could unfairly burden families who cannot immediately afford headstones, and discussed limits on plot purchases (including a maximum of up to three lots in some cases). Council also discussed double-depth burial arrangements and administrative fees related to burial-rights exchanges. The ordinance was not finalized; staff will continue redrafting prior to another council review.
The hearing closed at 7:23 p.m.; no formal action was taken at the May 13 meeting.
