"We requested to make some of those priority 2 calls priority one calls here," Randon., staff member, told the council, adding that the fire department and city attorney had reviewed the list and that copies were available for the public.
Council members pressed for more education about dispatch workflow and how call logging is tracked. A council member asked how the city keeps records of calls and cancellations; staff explained calls are tracked through dispatch, a Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and monthly reporting to the state via the NFIRS/NURS reporting system.
No public speakers provided substantive testimony during the hearing segment. The council continued the public hearing to the next meeting on July 7 to allow staff to refine the ordinance language and return with the formal ordinance for consideration and potential adoption.
