Park director reports egg hunt turnout, AED grant and new trees; resident raises stop-sign, flag concerns

Park and Recreation Director Brian Perry told the board the spring egg hunt drew about 180 participants and thanked high school volunteers for their help. He said dirt was delivered to Veterans Fields and that robot mowers are scheduled for delivery this week. Perry also reported the township received a grant to install AED enclosures in the park and will receive 15 trees from the Tree Pennsylvania Bare Root Tree Program (funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and other partners) to be planted along the driveway to Veterans Field. During public comment, Bridget Miller (8633 Lost Valley Drive) asked the township to provide information about flag collection/retirement opportunities and raised safety concerns about motorists not stopping at stop signs in Adams Ridge and at Hutchman/Kaufman Road. Supervisor Ronald G. Nacey asked Township Manager Mike Tylka to post information about the Boy Scouts' flag retirement at the Mars VFW on the township website.
The board approved the Park and Recreation report for March as part of routine reports recorded in the meeting minutes.
