At its June 1 meeting the Trenton City Council approved a package of routine consent items covering an event permit, equipment purchases and administrative minutes.
The council approved an event permit requested by St. Paul Lutheran Church for the Healthy Trenton 5K/1M Run/Walk to be held Saturday, July 18, with the one-mile event scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. and the 5K to start at 8:30 a.m. The route will travel against traffic on Charleton and Westfield Road and enter the paved path at Stro; volunteers and police will supervise the event.
City Administrator Dean presented quotes for replacement roller-screen window shades at City Hall and requested authorization to purchase and install shades from Best Buy Blinds at $23,500, funded from the bond improvement fund. The council approved the purchase as part of consent.
Dean also noted the Summer Festival Committee recommended the Trenton Rotary Club to operate the festival beverage tent; the council approved that selection.
The council approved a set of minutes from city boards (Cultural Commission, Fire & Police Pension Board, Library Governing Board, Traffic Safety Commission) and moved to approve authorized disbursements for June 1, 2026 (amount read in the record as 97,19181). All consent items were approved unanimously.
The meeting record did not include contract numbers for the shade purchase or additional operational details for festival beverage operations beyond committee recommendation.
