The Cloud County Board of Commissioners took a series of routine formal actions May 26, 2026, including approving a local disaster proclamation, personnel changes and financial housekeeping.
On a motion by Commissioner Ron Copple, seconded by Commissioner Dannie Kearn, the Board unanimously approved Resolution 2026‑8, proclaiming a state of local disaster emergency for Cloud County for storms that occurred May 16–22. The motion carried with a unanimous recorded vote.
The Board also unanimously approved a classification change for Deveneke Bilbrey from Deputy I (J1) to Corrections Officer I (E1), effective May 17, 2026; approved Transfer 2026‑0526‑1 to correct a commodity posting related to Check 223903 (debit County General/Treasurer commodities; credit County General/District Court commodities; $29.99); and approved payroll expenses totaling $187,112.72 and payroll deductions and benefits totaling $214,652.01.
The Board approved abatements numbered 2026‑127 through 2026‑131 with a net change of negative $226.78 and a refund of $204.78, approved the May 18, 2026 minutes as presented, and adjourned (the minutes record adjournment at 11:20; the session began at 9:00 a.m., so the listed time is taken as 11:20 a.m.).
