Cloud County denies Glasco wind‑farm repair grant, affirms fairgrounds grant routing

The Cloud County Board of Commissioners reviewed multiple requests tied to the county’s WindFarm and fairgrounds funds and denied one city request while confirming the process for other grant payments.
Lisa Mosher and Amanda Hacker of the Cloud County Fair Board asked whether grant funds to replace a sewage pump could be processed through the County. County attorney Mike Montonya (by phone) and the Board agreed that grant funds and payments (not to exceed the grant) may be processed through the County.
Separately, attorney Montonya told the Board the Wind Farm agreement used for the Plum Nellie wind project cannot be repurposed for a solar farm. The Board also reviewed a City of Glasco request for $63,525 toward tower repairs on a $127,050 project and denied that application.
Commissioners noted a thank-you letter from Jamestown for prior WindFarm assistance and discussed the Kansas Gives Back Volunteer Challenge, where a $1,000 award would go to the Concordia Lions Club if the County wins. No additional WindFarm awards were approved at the meeting.
