Hampstead says water pipeline work is on schedule and under budget, completion targeted August 2027

The Hampstead Planning & Zoning Commission heard an update on the town's water system project at its May 27 meeting, during which staff reported the pipeline portion is proceeding on schedule and below the contracted price.

Zoning Administrator said that "the pipeline portion of this project is coming in on time, under time, and also below the contracted price," and that new water mains and accessories are installed while sidewalk reconstruction and site work remain. He said construction trailers are in place on Shiloh Avenue and pre-construction meetings with county grading and settlement-control staff are being scheduled for grading at North Carol Farms and Hampstead Valley, the latter near Chief Sites Park.

Why it matters: the project moves key drinking-water infrastructure forward for multiple neighborhoods while aiming to stay within the contractor's budget. The administrator told commissioners the contractor expects to have "everything totally wrapped up by August of 2027." That timeline covers the pipeline portion; additional work remains for the water treatment plant component.
