At its Dec. 17 meeting, the Colts Neck Township Board of Education passed a series of routine agenda items and recorded recusals and abstentions on limited subitems.
The board approved action items 1–5 as a package on a unanimous roll call. A single buildings-and-grounds fee-schedule item and one curriculum item were moved and approved separately; trustees highlighted the fee schedule’s modernization and the curriculum item without extended debate.
Finance items 1–6 were approved on roll call; the record shows at least one board member recused on item six and one member indicated an abstention on that subitem. Personnel items 1–16 were also approved; during the vote a board member recused from items 4–8 and 15 as noted in the roll call. The board did not provide detailed discussion of the individual personnel recommendations at the public meeting beyond the roll-call votes.
The board recorded that the approval votes carried and that administrative offices will proceed with implementation tasks tied to each item (business office for finance items, human resources for personnel items). No change to district policy was made during the meeting.
The board then moved to an executive session to discuss pending litigation; no public action was taken during the closed session.
