Council reappoints Malissa Lee to Housing Authority after recusal; authorizes park site search and PARD grant application

In old business, the council designated April 25, 2026 as the City-Wide Cleanup Day; the minutes record the motion as passing 6-2 with Mayor Pro Tem Thomas and Councilmember Jason Edwards opposing. During the public comment period, citizen John Rogers petitioned to hang Betsy Ross flags on Court Square for the 250th Revolutionary War anniversary; the council voted to coordinate the flag hanging with the Rev 250 group.
Council then entered executive session to discuss adversary litigation matters and adjourned after emerging from executive session. No executive-session actions were recorded publicly.
