Calhoun County supervisors accept canvass of June 4 primary; results recorded

The Calhoun County Board of Supervisors officially accepted the canvass of the June 4, 2024 primary election results at its June 11 meeting.
County Auditor Robin D. Batz presented the results; the board voted to accept them by motion of Supervisor Scott Jacobs, seconded by Supervisor Scott Becker. Reported vote totals in the record include: Republican U.S. House District 4 — Randy Feenstra 701, Kevin Virgil 264; Republican State Senate District 4 — Tim Kraayenbrink 881; Republican State Representative District 7 — Mike Sexton 539, Wendy Lou Larson 470. County-level totals recorded in the minutes show Auditor Robin D. Batz received 905 Republican votes and Sheriff Patrick Riley received 915 Republican votes. The canvass also recorded that one provisional ballot was not cured and two UOCAVA ballots were not returned in time to be counted.
The board did not alter results and accepted the canvass as presented. Under Iowa election procedures the canvass is the official certification step for the county; the board’s acceptance completes the county-level canvass process.
