Planning Board reviews department feedback as part of 2026 master-plan update

Planning administrator Shay Maker told the board that the master-plan update process has produced written feedback from several town departments and local organizations, including the fire chief, police chief, water department, historical society and selectmen. Conservation commission comments remained outstanding and were expected the next day.
Shay said she compiled the responses into a 2026 master-plan activity log and recommended the board use that document as the working implementation plan, updating target dates and priority levels where appropriate. Board members discussed using the commission’s prioritized list and dates as inputs and suggested a subsequent review to refine responsibilities and timelines.
Members agreed the working document would be easiest to edit in a Word/Excel format for copying and pasting responses; Shay said she would incorporate the conservation commission comments when received and circulate the updated document for board review. The board discussed whether one additional review round would be needed before finalizing implementation targets.
Next steps: staff will insert conservation-commission feedback into the activity log, circulate the working document to board members, and schedule any follow-up working sessions needed to finalize the implementation schedule.
