Lower Pottsgrove approves equipment rental bid, hires building code official and files playground grant

Lower Pottsgrove Township's Board of Commissioners approved a slate of routine motions and resolutions at its Feb. 19, 2026 meeting, including awarding a $181,736 equipment rental contract, hiring a temporary Building Code Official on a one-year trial, and authorizing a grant application for an inclusive playground at Sanatoga Park.
Commissioner Robert Mohollen moved to award the equipment rental bid to Sacks & Sons of Zieglerville, Pa., for $181,736; Commissioner James Hutchinson seconded the motion, which passed 5-0. Manager Edward C. Wagner noted a competing bid from H & K exceeded $250,000.
The Board also approved hiring James McCarthy Engineering Associates at $129 per hour to serve as the Building Code Official; Joe Groff will serve as backup. Wagner said Technicon will perform commercial inspections and Barry Isett will handle residential inspections during the one-year trial. Commissioner William Keohane moved to hire McCarthy; Commissioner Eileen Bailey seconded and the motion passed 5-0.
Commissioner Mohollen moved to approve Resolution 1392-26 to dispose of bicycles recovered by the Police Department; Commissioner Bailey seconded and the Board approved the resolution 5-0. Wagner said the bicycles will be donated to Liberty Thrift. Commissioner Keohane moved to approve Resolution 1393-26, a grant application to the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources for an inclusive playground at Sanatoga Park; Commissioner Hutchinson seconded and the motion passed 5-0.
The Board accepted the Treasurer's Report for January 2026 by unanimous vote. Several items on the agenda were procedural and received little or no discussion. The Board adjourned at 6:52 p.m.
