At the start of the meeting the board moved and seconded to accept claims submitted by county staff (transcript lists the total as 283,71867). The board then approved Eastern Iowa Light & Power Cooperative's application to install a cable on the county roadway at 65th Street and Bell Avenue after a motion and second. The board also set a public hearing on June 16, 2026, at 8:45 a.m. for a FY26 budget amendment.
Near the end of the meeting supervisors discussed a budget amendment request to add funds to cover a higher-than-expected number of medical examiner autopsies; members said a proposed amount may be insufficient and asked staff for details. No final vote on an additional medical examiner appropriation was recorded during the meeting.
The decisions on claims, the utility permit and the hearing were adopted by motion; when the board asked staff for more information about the medical examiner funding, they did not finalize that amendment at this session.
