At its regular meeting the North Syracuse Central School District Board of Education approved a slate of routine resolutions and agreements.
The board set its annual organizational meeting for July 13, 2026, and approved procedural items including minutes and personnel reports. Members approved authorization connected to a vehicle-bond proposition that voters had previously passed; the board conducted the required roll-call on the resulting authorization.
The board approved a memorandum of agreement among the district, the North Syracuse Academic Directors Association and the North Syracuse Education Association. Trustees also approved a tax-certiorari settlement with AutoZone on an assessment challenge; administration said the settlement reduced the district’s assessed value exposure compared with the company’s initial claim.
Gifts: Cicero Elementary earned $1,000 from a New York State First in Math regional competition and SunTech International awarded $1,000 to Souther Elementary. Micron pledged $30,000 to fund a hands-on "Chip Camp" for students interested in semiconductor manufacturing, engineering and technology; the district noted the payment covers the full cost of that summer program so there is no cost to families.
The board also approved annual OCM BOCES cooperative agreements and an EdTech agreement. Several retirements were acknowledged and the board moved into an executive session to consider personnel matters.
What’s next: Administration said facilities-committee work and continued outreach will precede additional capital decisions; many routine items passed unanimously during the meeting.
