The Falcon Heights City Council voted unanimously April 22 to appoint members to a Community Advisory Committee (CAC) for the Les Bolstad Golf Course redevelopment, concluding a short debate about committee composition.
Staff (Linehan) described the CAC recruitment and selection process and said appointments were ready to be made. Several councilmembers praised the candidates’ experience. Councilmember Mogen raised a concern that only one appointee had explicit planning experience and proposed adding Scott Wilson — either to replace an at‑large member or by expanding the committee — so the CAC would include additional planning expertise. Councilmember May said the recruitment process was designed to produce a diverse group with skills beyond planning and objected to changing the agreed process. After discussion, Mogen withdrew the request to add Wilson.
Councilmember Wassenberg moved to approve Resolution 26-38 appointing the CAC members as presented; the motion passed 5-0. Linehan confirmed that staff and the consultant (Bolton & Menk) would support the CAC, and that staff and consultant representatives (Hannah Myhren and Linehan) are expected to attend CAC meetings.
The council noted the CAC is advisory and will not make final planning decisions; it is intended to gather community viewpoints and advise staff and consultants working on the redevelopment.
