The City of Cleburne approved a purchase to replace and stock water meters and related parts, authorizing up to $533,100 for about 1,100 meters, replacement antennas, fire hydrant meters and registers. Utilities staff explained the meters serve roughly 13,000 water connections across the system and described meters as the utility’s primary usage-tracking devices.
Staff said Master Meter is the sole service vendor used by the city and that the purchase price includes a 7% tariff the manufacturer implemented in May 2025. The requested authorization includes a modest overage allowance to accommodate final order adjustments.
Councilmember Blake Jones moved to approve the resolution; Derek Weathers seconded and the council approved the item unanimously.
