The City of Cleburne approved a 30‑year master tenant lease for Hangar 99 with Plane Place Aviation during its Aug. 26 council meeting. The airport presentation described a tenant investment of about $1,200,000 to bring the hangar into compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act and National Fire Protection Association requirements, update the façade and address aging infrastructure.
An airport representative said the hangar’s 28‑foot door height and large footprint would allow the company to service a larger class of business jets and expand its operations beyond the three hangars it currently occupies at Cleburne Airport. The lease includes an initial 30‑year term with two five‑year tenant renewal options, and staff projected about $143,000 in annual revenue for the airport from the agreement.
Councilmember Derek Weathers moved to approve the lease and Councilmember Oliver Cosby seconded. The council voted unanimously to approve the resolution.
The mayor and council described the lease as a model for future airport business attraction and said the agreement is intended to ensure leases comply with federal obligations while supporting local economic growth.
