The board announced a free pool party for district residents on July 31 from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the rec center; flyers and a QR sign-up were available. David Aldrich reported the city has begun a quit-claim process on the Brickyard alley to address trespassing and trash, and neighbors will meet with staff to discuss cleanup plans.
Eric Chase and others discussed pursuing ADA sidewalk ramps; the group had sought Community Development Block Grant funding and will revisit funding availability and timelines. Steve Burton described a newly completed bike-ped path on the Provo side that connects toward Orum; Orum (ORM) plans to connect its side of the sidewalk and staff will replace chains with bollards to allow bikes while preventing cars.
Amanda Pernell said transportation staff are considering restricting left turns at a hill intersection near State Street (near the Quick Quack) to reduce blockage; UDOT (region three) will handle signal timing and is expected to be about a year from making a decision and presenting possible changes to the neighborhood.
The board closed the meeting and said the next district meeting will be September 16.
