Select Board approves Cleanup Day, property sale and routine permits; easement, licenses and parade route cleared

The Foxborough Select Board on Jan. 20 approved a set of routine but official actions including a community event date, a property disposition, licensing changes and easement matters.
Event approval: Joe Gerity, planning coordinator for the Foxborough Cleanup Day Committee, reviewed the event’s history and asked for board approval to hold the 12th annual Foxborough Cleanup Day on Saturday, April 11, 2026 (rain or shine). The board moved, seconded and approved the date.
Property disposition: Staff reported the town received one bid for 175 Mechanic Street from the Sage Center for Learning; the bid of $350,001 was presented as the winning offer and the board voted to award the disposition and authorize the manager to finalize purchase-and-sale documents.
Permits and easements: The board approved an update to the town’s licensing procedure for commercial parking (see other coverage for context on World Cup planning), granted an easement to the Massachusetts Electric Company for underground work on Spring Street (as previously approved at Town Meeting 2025), and approved a use-of-public-way application for Bailey’s Team for Autism on April 12, 2026. The board also approved eight one-day beer-and-wine licenses for Wormtown Brewery at 200 Patriots Place for Comedy Scene performance dates in February.
Procedure and votes: Most motions were moved and seconded on the floor and approved as read. Where votes were called aloud, the roll-call on the earlier executive-session motion recorded affirmative responses from Mark, Stephanie, Bill, Amy and Debbie.
What’s next: Town staff will proceed with closing steps for the Mechanic Street disposition and process permits and easements per standard administrative practice.
