Staff reported they had only received one formal bid for the track work but had contacted multiple vendors and received recommendations from neighboring districts for Geo Services. Concerns were raised about procurement rules and whether the district needed three bids; board members asked staff to ensure compliance with bidding laws. To avoid delay, the board authorized the superintendent to sign any appropriate contract received within the next month that follows bidding laws and fits the established budget. The motion was carried 7‑0.
Board members also discussed drainage and coordination between irrigation and resurfacing crews, and staff said the district has taken steps to verify irrigation heads and address puddling issues before placing the final track surface.
