Residents urge enforcement on unlicensed businesses, request park repairs during Town Board public comment

During the public comment portion of the Feb. 26 Town Board meeting several residents raised neighborhood concerns.
John Solak told the board that the town has "more unlicensed Massage parlors than any other community," said he had documented visits to most of them and noted that the FBI and New York State Police have taken action; he also recommended the town consider forming a local IDA to be more cost effective. The minutes record his statement and suggestion; the board did not take immediate action on the proposal during the meeting.
Jorge Lopez requested that the Highland Park tennis courts be redone. Supervisor Robert Mack replied that "the tennis courts at Highland Park will be completely restored this year." Later in the meeting June Leonard thanked the board for cleanup work on Dean Drive and asked what would happen next; Supervisor Mack said he believed the county was proceeding toward foreclosure and auction, after which a buyer might rehabilitate the property.
These public comments were entered into the minutes; no formal action on the massage parlor concerns or a new IDA was taken at the Feb. 26 meeting.
