Presenters walked the board through photos and detailed progress: the high roof is dry, insulation is being installed on the lower roof and steel erection is underway for the secure connector and vestibule. Brickwork has begun along the building’s lower edges and crews expect to complete the remaining roofing work by the end of June. Staff said secure connector sections will be built on the ground and lifted into place.
On finance, presenters reported $17,477,662 spent to date on the CT project, representing about 44.49% of the budget with 52.58% of work complete. Staff said there have been no change orders for this project to date and that pre‑purchasing some items may temporarily alter percent-complete vs. spend ratios but is part of a planned, proactive purchasing strategy.
Project contractors and staff were credited for keeping the schedule moving; two RRMM payments were documented for board review. Board members asked about clearance between buses and the new structure and were told the minimum clearance is adequate but deliveries requiring extra care will be managed by staff.
Next steps: roofing completion expected by end of June; technology and RFP work to continue; staff will return with any required change‑order details or additional financial documentation.
