Superintendent McMahon summarized the procurement: an RFP was issued about three weeks earlier, two vendors attended the required pre‑bid meeting and one vendor ultimately submitted a bid. McMahon said the bid came in lower than the original RFP estimate and that the district will remove one short section of sidewalk that is no longer needed and replace sections that are crumbling. “Our sidewalks are in real bad shape … some cases [the concrete is] 25 years old,” McMahon said, and added the project is eligible for sinking‑fund dollars.
Trustees asked no further questions and approved the contract on a unanimous vote. Administration said work will prioritize pedestrian safety and coordinate with other facility needs on the high‑school campus.
