Five new Deltona firefighters sworn in at June 1 City Commission meeting

The recruits collectively pledged to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America and the state of Florida” and to faithfully discharge their duties as Deltona firefighters.
Family and colleagues pinned the new hires following the oath, and the chamber applauded. The presentation concluded with brief remarks from the chief and a photo opportunity.
The ceremony was ceremonial only; no formal personnel votes or actions were recorded at the meeting.
