Sunbury council approves ODOT consent, snow‑and‑ice agreement, class gift and a planning appointment

At its June 3 meeting Sunbury City Council unanimously approved an ODOT overlay consent on I‑71, a snow/ice maintenance agreement with ODOT, supported the Big Walnut High School Class of 2025 honorary signs project, and appointed Deborah Miller to the Planning & Zoning Commission through year‑end.
On third reading council unanimously approved an ordinance consenting to the Ohio Department of Transportation for asphalt overlay, guardrail upgrades and ramp resurfacing on I‑71 within the city limits. A separate third‑reading ordinance authorizing the city to enter into an agreement with ODOT for snow and ice removal on state highways within Sunbury also passed on a unanimous roll call.
In new and unfinished business council voted to support the Big Walnut High School Class of 2025 project to install eight honorary, non‑reflective signs along North Miller Drive paid for by the class; council described the signs as purely honorary with no change to street addresses. Council also appointed Mrs. Deborah Miller to the Planning & Zoning Commission through the end of the calendar year; members noted her resume in the packet and her prior participation in zoning working groups.
All recorded roll‑call votes reported at the meeting were unanimous 'yes' from the seven members present.
