Commissioners report butterfly-garden review, tree talk and cemetery rededication

During board and commission reports on June 1, Commissioner Stadnik said the Tennessee Environmental Council visited the Smith Park butterfly garden and provided suggestions intended to help attract and support monarch butterflies.
Stadnik also reported that the tree board conducted a walk in an arboretum area between Brent Haven and Westgate on city property and promoted a free "tree talk" event on June 20 at 10:00 featuring arborist Blue Curry; Stadnik said attendees would walk the arboretum and that coffee would be provided.
The history commission reported a recent cemetery rededication honoring a Revolutionary War soldier and previewed the July 4 "Red, White, and Blue" festival, including a planned presentation of arms by SAR reenactors.
Separately, Commissioner Travis offered public thanks to Commissioner Betsy Crosley for her service to Brentwood, recounting a campaign-era memory and expressing appreciation. The meeting then moved to adjourn.
