The Brentwood Planning Commission on June 1 voted to forward an endorsement to the Board of Commissioners for a public hearing on a proposed annexation and plan of services for the Cruise Subdivision, a staff presentation said.
Todd, a city staff presenter, described the applicant as Hillsborough Road Partnership and said the request covers "approximately 76 acres," noting the site lies south of Old Hickory Boulevard and west of Hillsborough Road. He told commissioners staff proposes assigning about 53 acres OSRD zoning and roughly 24 acres R2, with the OSRD portion designed for 25 lots, common open space and a gated subdivision layout.
Todd said utilities for water and sewer would be provided by Metro Water Services and that staff expects the project "will not impact the city's water and sewer infrastructure." He told the panel the site includes regulatory floodplain and will require compensatory cut-and-fill to meet zoning and engineering requirements during development.
After the presentation and with no public comment, a commissioner moved to forward an endorsement of the plan of services and annexation to the Board of Commissioners for scheduling of a public hearing; the motion passed unanimously. Staff indicated that if the process proceeds as planned, second and final readings of related approvals would be expected by Aug. 24.
