Bayside architectural review panel approves three residential projects

The Village of Bayside Architectural Review Committee on March 31 approved three residential projects brought by homeowners, clearing the way for the property owners to apply for required building permits.

At the start of the 5:00 p.m. meeting Chairperson John Krampf and Trustee liaison Ben Minkin led roll call and the body approved the March 3 and March 10 meeting minutes by unanimous voice vote.

Committee member Kirsten Hildebrand presented plans for work at 1460 East Bay Point Road, where she and architect Jeremy Hartline described three additions: a 294-square-foot first-floor addition, a 300-square-foot second-story addition and a 70-square-foot front entry. Jeremy Hartline, the project architect, said the additions “will match the existing home’s exterior.” Trustee Ben Minkin moved to approve the project and Committee member Jeffrey Harrington seconded; the committee approved the proposal 4-0, with Committee member Kirsten Hildebrand recorded as abstaining from the vote on her own property.

Homeowners Mark and Rosie McCormick described a proposal for a 96-square-foot shed to be placed in the southeast corner of their property at 809 East Ellsworth Lane. Mark McCormick said the shed will sit on a concrete base and “will have tan siding with white trim and a black roof.” Chairperson Krampf moved approval and Committee member Christine Duback seconded; the committee approved the shed unanimously.

At 9227 North Regent Road, homeowner Steven Freigang proposed installing a 13-foot-by-19-foot (247-square-foot) pergola over an existing patio. Freigang said the pergola “will be a dark grey color which will match the home’s exterior.” Trustee Minkin moved approval; Committee member Hildebrand seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

The Committee took no other substantive action and adjourned at 5:13 p.m.
