Girl Scout Troop 8206 asked the Board of Trustees for permission to place a tote or small shed at Village Park as part of a Bronze Award project. The troop proposed providing community-use items such as basketballs, chalk, tennis rackets and balls, jump ropes and hula hoops, available seasonally from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Board members and staff raised minor concerns about some items and said the final list of contents and operational details should be worked out between village staff and the troop. Trustee Chuck Hornung moved to approve the placement of the box, subject to staff approval of details and items; Trustee John Duffy seconded. The motion passed 5-0.
The minutes record the board’s approval with staff charged to finalize acceptable items and logistics before the tote is placed in the park.
