Robbins council reviews village finances, MWRD bid schedule and municipal updates

The Village of Robbins Board of Trustees reviewed municipal financial reports and administrative updates at its Jan. 25 meeting, with Mayor Darren E. Bryant announcing MWRD bidding deadlines and Clerk Sharon Dyson reporting recent sticker and transfer-stamp receipts.
The board accepted the meeting roll call and approved minutes from Dec. 24, 2021 and special meetings on Jan. 4 and Jan. 11, 2022. Clerk Sharon Dyson reminded residents that vehicle stickers must be purchased by Feb. 14 to avoid a late fee and reported $1,100 in transfer-stamp receipts and $4,430 in vehicle-sticker sales for January.
Treasurer Mr. Kemp presented account balances for November and December. The minutes record November beginning and ending balances for the General Fund (beginning $355,312.07; ending $254,921.26) and Water/Sewage (beginning $119,480.45; ending $48,761.45), and total beginning and ending balances (beginning $1,303,507.34; ending $1,122,834.40). For December the General Fund beginning balance was $254,921.26 and ending $219,738.55; Water/Sewage beginning $48,761.45 and ending $14,237.38; total beginning $1,121,847.83 and ending $1,003,621.19. Trustee George Brewton moved to accept the treasurer’s report, Trustee David R. Dyson seconded, and the trustees approved the report on a roll-call vote.
Mayor Bryant also told trustees the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) is taking bids with a Feb. 15 deadline and that construction is tentatively scheduled for March or April 2022; he directed residents to the Village of Robbins website for bid details. The board did not take new financial action beyond accepting the reports.
