Charlevoix County board places four millage renewals and tax limit on August ballot

Resolutions adopted by the board would: restore a .25 mill transit millage (estimated first-year revenue $833,614) for 2026–2029 (Resolution 26-035); renew a .15 mill parks millage (estimated first-year revenue $500,169) for 2026–2029 (Resolution 26-036); renew a .10 mill veterans millage (estimated first-year revenue $333,446) for 2026–2029 (Resolution 26-037); and set a total tax limitation at 5.9 mills (county 4.70, townships 1.00, Intermediate School District 0.20) and place that question on the ballot for a five-year period (Resolution 26-038).
Each resolution passed by roll call vote recorded in the minutes as 5-0. The millage language to be printed on the ballot and the stated estimates for first-year revenue were included in the resolutions adopted at the meeting.
The board did not take any additional actions related to implementation funding or specific allocation details beyond the ballot language adopted at the April 22 meeting. Voters will determine whether the renewals and tax limitation move forward in August.
