Clallam County housing authority approves routine consent items, discusses board appointment

The Clallam County Housing Authority adopted its consent agenda and approved the Section 8 check register during its meeting. The consent agenda covered timesheets, leave, minutes and the April check register; a motion was seconded and board members voiced approval.
Director Heidi Greenwood, who identified herself as the attorney, said a motion to approve the Section 8 check register was made and that one member would recuse herself. "I will recuse myself," Greenwood said during the roll call on that item. The motion was then seconded and approved by voice vote.
In a personnel note included in the director’s report, Greenwood said the authority is still negotiating a collective bargaining agreement and plans to bring proposed personnel-handbook changes, including revisions to bereavement policy, to the board in June. "We are gonna be bringing some changes to the personnel policy, in June," Greenwood said.
The board also discussed a candidate for a vacant board seat. Greenwood summarized an interview with Linda Middleton, describing Middleton as a longtime West End advocate and a former nonprofit executive. Greenwood said Middleton would appreciate the option of serving virtually because she does not want intensive travel commitments. Board members indicated they had no objection to forwarding her name to the county for consideration.
The meeting closed routine business with no old or new business reported and a plan to pause or stop the recording to begin an executive item later in the agenda.
