Latricia Suggs was elected chair of the Clallam County Marine Resources Committee at the meeting, and Alan Clark was named vice chair and confirmed as the committee’s Northwest Straits Commission representative. The motion to elect the slate was moved from the floor and approved by unanimous consent.
The committee first approved the April meeting minutes by unanimous consent after a motion and second. During the officer elections, Ann Soule moved to elect Suggs and Clark to the roles; the motion received a second and passed with no objections. The chair announced the results and said the two will serve for another year.
Members emphasized continuity of representation: Alan Clark will continue attending Northwest Straits Commission meetings on behalf of the MRC. The action required only committee approval and did not include a recorded roll-call vote; the chair conducted the action by unanimous consent.
Committee business now moves forward under the newly confirmed leadership. The meeting then shifted to project updates and program reports, including a proposed Northwest Straits–coordinated green crab molt-search and several monitoring project briefings.
