DDAC recommends three new members to forward to Clallam County commissioners

The Developmental Disabilities Advisory Committee voted at its April meeting to recommend three applicants — Denise Slapio, Patrice Johnson and Ray Heffelbach — for appointment to the DDAC and said it will forward that recommendation to the Clallam County Board of County Commissioners for final approval.

Laura Johns, DDAC president, told the committee the interview panel had conducted three interviews and was presenting its recommendations. "If committee votes to approve these applicants, we will forward the recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners for final approval," she said.

The panel reported it conducted interviews on Feb. 18 and March 25. Committee members voiced their support during a voice vote; the meeting transcript records multiple "yay" responses. The meeting did not record a roll-call vote or a recorded tally in the minutes presented at the meeting.

The appointments are a recommendation only: the Board of County Commissioners must act to confirm membership on the advisory committee. The committee chair said the recommendation will be transmitted to the commissioners’ office for consideration.

The committee adopted the motion by voice and moved on to other agenda items; no amendments or abstentions were recorded in the meeting text. The DDAC will continue regular business at its next scheduled meeting in June.
