Commissioners approve Raycom bid to upfit sheriff's vehicle; deputies authorized for $1,000 cards

Sheriff— (speaker 7) presented three procurement quotes and said the Raycom bid was the least expensive and compatible with existing equipment, putting the project within the vehicle— budget. "They came in at a price that is the least expensive," the sheriff said, adding that Raycom had previously assisted the department without charging fees.
The board moved on the procurement by voice vote. The motion on the record described acceptance of the Raycom bid for the vehicle upfit in the amount of $22,917.62 and the chair announced the motion carried.
On a related personnel-finance item, the sheriff asked that deputies Isaac Peterson and Beaver receive county-issued credit cards with a $1,000 limit for authorized travel, training and emergency purchases. Commissioners directed that the cards be issued and noted the authorization in the meeting minutes.
County officials also discussed outstanding policy work related to body cameras and a chaplaincy policy; the sheriff said the draft policies had been provided to the prosecutor and others and he would follow up to finalize them.
The actions were recorded as routine procurement and personnel authorizations; no roll-call vote tallies were read into the record, and each item carried by voice vote at the time of the meeting.
