The Midway Town Council unanimously approved May 4 updates to Section 3.08 of the Core Commercial Overlay District (CCOD) that transfer final approval authority from the Planning Board to the Town Council and clarify the overlay’s presentation.
Town Manager Brock Hall and Town Attorney Jim Lanik presented the edits, describing the removal of two graphics and the addition of photos from the original Hwy 52 Corridor Plan for clarity. Hall said staff and the Planning Board (which recommended approval at its March 31 meeting) supported the revisions.
Mayor John Byrum opened and closed a public hearing with no public comment, and council voted to adopt the changes. A complete copy of the updated CCOD is available in the Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall.
