Board hears Iowa HHS update and reviews FY27 level-funding public health budget request

Diane Anderson, representing Iowa Health & Human Services, told the board the FY27 Local Public Health Services RFP is being finalized and will shift focus to align with the Foundations of Public Health framework.
Anderson also noted the Iowa Public Information Board provides free training on open meeting laws for board members and administrators.
Brittany Hubanks reported she presented the county’s FY27 public health budget proposal to the Board of Supervisors earlier that day and described it as a level-funding request. Hubanks provided program statistics, grant budget updates and a highlighted success story to the Board of Health; no funding increases or reductions were approved at the Board of Health meeting. The Board of Supervisors will consider the county budget through its regular appropriation process.
