The Danbury Environmental Impact Commission on Oct. 9 tabled consideration of a proposed in‑ground pool at 12232 Ezra Road to its Oct. 23 meeting so staff can inspect erosion controls and prepare a report.
Jamie, a contractor with Hat City Pools in Danbury, told commissioners the work involves installing an in‑ground pool within the 200‑foot regulated buffer of Lake Wackawanna. The applicant said an engineer prepared a runoff protection plan and that hay bales and silt fence have been installed as temporary erosion controls.
Larry, a city staff member, said construction had already begun but that erosion controls were in place and no environmental impacts had been observed. He recommended a staff drive‑by inspection and said he would prepare a staff report for the next meeting.
The commission voted to table the application to Oct. 23 to allow staff inspection and a formal recommendation. The applicant was told to contact staff when erosion controls are in place so staff can inspect before the item returns to the commission.
