Board renews university placements, dual-enrollment and staffing agreements; approves interdistrict outreach

Members approved renewal of the employee-staffing agreement with Educational Services Incorporated (ESI) for FY2026–27. The superintendent highlighted a contractual change allowing the district to consider certain classified positions for ESI placement when positions are hard to fill; she told the board ESI historically complies with district direction and that the district will continue supervising placements on school sites.
The board also approved a direct-service agreement with Vail School District for the AZEDS outreach program to support the new student center and SACE specialist work.
Why it matters: these renewals preserve staffing pipelines (pre-service teachers), expand student access to college credit, and maintain flexible staffing arrangements for hard-to-fill roles. The ESI change was discussed at length and the superintendent said the vendor has historically been responsive to district guidance.
Next steps: contracts will be processed administratively and implementation will follow existing procedures (placement coordination, instructor approvals and payroll processes).
