Harwinton wetlands commission grants 65‑day extension for fairgrounds solar review

The applicant requested extra time under Connecticut General Statutes CGS 8-7d(b) to revise the submission after receiving comments from W.M.C. Consulting Engineers, the commission recorded. Chairwoman Susan Ryan and commissioners voted to grant the request after a motion by Secretary Todd Werner and a second from Francis Skarp.
Commissioners said they expect a final review report from W.M.C. before a decision is made and noted the extension is intended to allow those revisions and reviews to occur. The commission also recorded that Werner recused himself from participating in the subsequent Harwinton Fairgrounds application.
The extension pauses the statutory decision deadline for 65 days while the applicant updates plans and the consultant completes its review; the commission did not take a final vote on the project at the March 2 meeting. The next procedural step is submission of revised plans and the W.M.C. final review report for the commission’s consideration.
