Thompson board accepts $20,000 grant, approves purchases, hires parks laborer and OKs events

At its May 5 meeting the Town of Thompson Board took a slate of routine but consequential administrative actions.
The board accepted a $20,000 Sullivan 180 Municipal Partnership Grant and authorized the Supervisor to sign the grant addendum (Res. No. 225). It approved Supplemental Certificate Disbursement No. 02 with the New York State Environmental Facilities Corp. for $129,027.72 to reimburse expenses on the Harris Sewer District Improvement Project (Res. No. 232).
The board authorized purchase and installation of a wireless remote assembly for a Vac-Con vacuum truck for the Water & Sewer Department at $11,895.32 (Res. No. 234). It approved park use by the Monticello Joint Fire District for UTV training on May 31, 2026, contingent on a certificate of insurance (Res. No. 235). The board also approved hiring Nilton Miguel, Jr. as a full-time Parks & Recreation Laborer #1 at $27.16 per hour (Res. No. 236) and approved an agreement with Creighton Manning Engineering & Surveying for transportation engineering review services for the Evergreen Hills Estates project (Res. No. 237).
Other actions included correcting previous meeting minutes (Res. Nos. 238–239), approving the order to pay regular bills (Res. No. 240), appointing Michael Konefal as a Lake Community representative to the Comprehensive Plan Committee (Res. No. 241), and approving the Rock Hill Summer Concert Series rental agreement with fees waived pending insurance (Res. No. 242). The board entered executive session late in the meeting to discuss a personnel matter and contract negotiations and took no final action upon return.
