The City of Cleburne City Council on April 8 took a series of routine and land-use actions and recessed to an executive session that produced no action when the meeting reconvened.
Among the items approved on the consent agenda was a resolution (RS04-2025-42) approving accounts payable payments totaling $5,434,969.38 for January 2025, presented by Craig Boonstra, Director of Finance. The council also approved the final plat for Lankford Farms Phase 1A (RS04-2025-43), a subdivision of approximately ±2.35 acres into ten single-family residential lots and one open-space lot; the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended the plat 5–0.
On the action agenda the council approved ordinance OR04-2025-12, granting a Specific Use Permit for a tattoo studio at 209 E. Henderson Street in the Downtown Core Overlay and granting a waiver from the 300-foot separation requirement following Planning & Zoning’s 5–0 recommendation. The council also approved OR04-2025-13 accepting an unsolicited $7,000 bid from Ramiro Agundis for struck-off property at 2451 Sabine Avenue; the minutes describe the conveyance as a deed without warranty and say the purchaser must comply with zoning and applicable laws.
The council approved RS04-2025-44 to reschedule the regular November 11, 2025 meeting to November 18, 2025 because Veterans Day falls on Nov. 11. Mayor Scott Cain recessed the meeting at 5:29 PM for executive session to receive legal advice and discuss land-use designations and a security audit; the council reconvened at 6:43 PM and recorded no actions resulting from the executive session.
