Uptown Butte BID to issue streetscape RFP in partnership with URA

The Uptown Butte Business Improvement District announced plans to issue a Streetscape Project request for proposals in partnership with the Urban Revitalization Agency, with the BID taking project management responsibility.
According to meeting minutes, the RFP is expected to be released at the end of May. Board members discussed public-space improvements such as planters and said additional RFPs and contractor bids will be needed; they emphasized that property-owner approval will be required for improvements on non-public lots.
Shawn Fredrickson, Butte-Silver Bow parks director, attended the meeting and discussed the lot located at the corner of Broadway and Main, reporting that the Parks Department has received a bid for brickwork improvements and requesting prompt feedback from the BID.
Next steps: the BID will work with URA to finalize the RFP language and release schedule and will solicit contractor bids and property-owner approvals before work on non-public parcels can proceed.
